Focus on science

The GRACE satellite missions are joint projects between Germany and the USA. The space agencies NASA and DLR as well as the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics are involved. Airbus has built all four satellites to date in Immenstaad on behalf of NASA.

The GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences is the scientific leader of the GRACE/GRACE-FO missions and is responsible for analysing the data. This data is used for various application-related activities. You can get an overview of these in our link collection.

Many scientists around the world use the GRACE/GRACE-FO data. The “Gravity Information Service” (GraVIS) data portal bundles the scientific processing and interpretation of the findings.

The publication portal provides access to all scientific publications published worldwide in connection with the GRACE satellite missions.

To make it easier for you to understand the subject-specific terms, we have compiled a glossary with explanations of scientific terms.
